Ayu Nakata, Flicker (c. 2012-2013)

Stumbled upon thee really amazing pieces by Japanese painter Ayu Nakata. I don’t know much about her, there isn’t a lot out there, but I can tell you these pieces are a combination of acrylics and watercolor, which provide for a really stunning effect. The muted color palette and the intense look on these women’s faces are a great combination, they set such a mysterious, engaging tone. There’s also a bit of magic to these, which I really like as well. Really glad I came across her work.
